H.E.L.P Horse enhanced learning programme

Stable Hearts run a H.E.L.P programme as part of a Community Partnership Programme which provides pathways for individuals and groups unable to fund themselves. The generosity of our local Hawke's Bay community ensures our programmes are available for clients with limited financial resources. Presently, our focus is on the recovery of children with trauma related challenges

OTHER PROGRAMMES

FROM THE INSIDE OUT PROGRAMME

‘From the Inside Out’ is a research based EAP redevelopment and recovery curriculum for Trauma Survivors. It was developed to support recovery through the honest reflections of horses; horses don’t lie. Because horses are animals of prey, they have established acute skills that enable them to thrive in a volatile environment. Horses are the perfect teachers and partners for children who have experienced physical and or psychological trauma. ‘From the Inside Out’ is a process based mental health programme.

ADVANTAGE HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC

During Advantage Horsemanship Clinics, horses facilitate clients to improve their self-understanding and emotional growth. AH recognises the bond between animals and humans and the potential for emotional healing when a relationship is formed between them. Stable Hearts Advantage Horsemanship Clinics are Mounted (horses are ridden) Exercises can be as simple as giving the client a halter, and letting them figure out how to approach the horse and put it on through to technical riding and horsemanship skills - a client centred learning model
